| We
hope all of you are enjoying the Holiday season. Here’s a quick
recap of what we’ve been up to this year. |

Kristi
is 13 and in 7th grade at McAuliffe Middle School. She
and her sister continue to swim at the YMCA swim club. Kristi loves
reading, drama, and dancing. Kristi plays 2 instruments, the guitar
and piano. Kristi also has been volunteering at Parkcrest Christian
Church in the nursery when their parents are at church. She also
got her first smart phone in late October and is very excited about
that. |
|
Katie is 15 and a sophomore at Los Alamitos High School. She swam
on the high school swim team in the Spring and will do so again this
coming spring. Katie is very active in the high school group at our
church and enjoys volunteering on Sundays. She won the Ugly
Christmas Sweater contest at our church and went to see her all time
favorite band, The Maine, in concert and later met them (it was all
she talked about for a long while(still).) Over the summer, Katie
decided to raise $2000 to build churches around the world, she’s
raised over $900 so far. (donations welcome)

Renee
continues to work part time and once again ran the half marathon at
the Long Beach Marathon in October, still in there, but getting
slower every year. Her dad is struggling health wise and is in a
“board and care” facility. His highlight of the week is if we bust
him out to go to lunch and have a glass of wine. |
| John
has been at Nestle 19 years and counting surviving a
reorganization. He has a similar job as the Telecom Manager but in
addition to Nestle USA he supports Nestle Purina Pet Care and Nestle
Waters Companies. With the extra responsibility comes no raise but
he did get a Laurel and Hardy handshake. His softball team is doing
well passing the 300 win mark this year. Translation: they’re old
and have been playing forever. He’s also helping out with the
camera, computers and lighting at Church services. |

We had a
really great vacation this year. In August we went on an Alaskan
cruise followed by a three day land tour. We got on the ship in
Vancouver, Canada and sailed up the inland passage. We enjoyed the
beautiful scenery. A couple of the highlights of the trip were
snorkeling in Ketchican in wet (they told us the water was a warm
57 degrees) and white water rafting down melted glacier water in
Denali.
In
June, we started a pretty big home improvement project. We
remodeled our bonus room into a home theater and replaced our
carpeted stairway with wood. As we write this, we’re just about
done, wrapping up a few loose ends.
Just
recently saw Wicked at the Pantages Theatre. Before the show we had
lunch at Mel’s Diner in Hollywood and had the good fortune of
getting a chance to talk to Flight Time and Big Easy from the Harlem
Globetrotters and on 2 seasons of the Amazing Race. It was a great
show and a fun local day trip. |
We hope all of you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
